This Is Home
P.O. Box 103, Hartselle, Alabama 35640. That's our mailing address. Has been for over twenty years.
We're not telling you this for marketing purposes. We're telling you because it means something — both to us and, we think, to you. When a company is based in your town, accountability works differently. We can't do a bad job and disappear. We're going to run into you at the grocery store, at Friday night football games, at church on Sunday. Our kids go to Hartselle City Schools. Our name is attached to every job we do.
That's not pressure — it's motivation. When the work we do is visible every time we drive through our own neighborhood, quality isn't optional. It's personal.
What Twenty Years Teaches You
After two decades of serving Morgan County, we've developed an understanding of this area that you can't get from a website. We know which neighborhoods have the worst drainage problems — the low-lying areas near Priceville Road, for instance. We know which builders cut corners on gutters in the subdivisions built in the early 2000s. We've watched homes in the downtown historic district go through multiple owners, and we've often maintained their gutters through each transition.
That institutional knowledge means something. When we look at a Hartselle home, we're not starting from scratch. We're drawing on hundreds of jobs in this community, patterns we've seen repeated, solutions we've tested over time.
The Hartselle We Remember
When we started serving this community, downtown Hartselle was quieter. The antique shops along Main Street drew weekend visitors, Depot Days was the big event of the year, and most of the residential areas were established neighborhoods where families had lived for generations. Growth was slow, steady, and organic.
The Hartselle That's Growing
Somewhere in the past decade, Hartselle got discovered. The word spread that Morgan County has good schools, affordable housing, and an easy commute to Huntsville and Decatur. New subdivisions started appearing on the outskirts. Young families moved in. The population has grown steadily, and with it, the demand for housing.
That growth has been good for the town — more activity downtown, more investment in amenities, more young energy. But it's also brought the same challenges we've seen in Madison and other booming communities: builder-grade construction, rushed development, and homes that were built fast rather than built right.
The Builder-Grade Problem
We've worked on plenty of newer Hartselle homes, and the pattern is familiar. Minimum-spec gutters — the cheapest 5-inch aluminum that meets code but can't handle North Alabama rainfall. Inadequate downspouts — too few, too small, or dumping water too close to the foundation. Poor grading — lots that were scraped level for construction but never properly graded for drainage after the house was built.
These aren't problems you'll notice on day one. They show up at year three, year five, year seven — when seams start failing, when settling reveals grading issues, when the shortcuts catch up. If you bought a new home in Hartselle within the last decade, these issues may be heading your way.
What Small-Town Accountability Means
In a place like Hartselle, word of mouth is everything. Which means we're going to be straight with you, even when it's not in our immediate financial interest. Here's the honest truth about a few things:
Gutter guards aren't always necessary. If you've got a single-story home with minimal tree coverage and you don't mind climbing a ladder twice a year, guards might be more than you need. We'll sell them to you if you want them, but we're not going to pretend they're essential for every Hartselle home.
Sometimes repairs beat replacement. If your gutters are fundamentally sound but have a few problem spots, we'll tell you. Replacing a perfectly good system just because it needs some work isn't honest — and we'd rather do a repair, have you be happy, and know you'll call us when you actually need new gutters.
Some problems aren't gutter problems. If water is pooling near your foundation but your gutters are fine, the issue might be grading or downspout placement. We'll tell you what we see, even if the fix isn't something we do.
When to Call Us
Call now: Gutters overflowing during rain (especially near your foundation). Visible sagging or separation from the house. Water stains on siding below the roofline. Any damage after a storm.
Can wait a bit: Minor debris accumulation (unless rain is coming). Cosmetic issues that aren't affecting function. Questions about future upgrades — though we're always happy to talk.
Serving All of Morgan County
Hartselle is our base, but we serve the whole area. Decatur, Priceville, Trinity, Somerville, Falkville, Lacey's Spring — we're everywhere in Morgan County, and we've been doing this long enough to know every corner of it.
Because we're local, response times are fast. Need an estimate? We can usually get there within a day or two. Got storm damage? We can often be there same-day. That's the advantage of working with a company that's actually here, not one that's sending crews from Birmingham or Atlanta.
