The total comes down to linear footage, the number of stories, how complex the roofline is, and whether any rotten fascia has to be fixed before the new gutters go up.

Gutter Cleaning

Gutter Guards
Gutter guard installation typically runs $7-15 per linear foot, or $1,050-3,000 for the 150-200 feet most homes need. Micro-mesh is the only type we've seen reliably stop pine needles. Under heavy tree cover, where cleaning is needed three or four times a year, guards can pay for themselves within a few years — faster under heavy pines. With light tree cover, they may not be worth it.

Underground Drains
On red clay, water that leaves the downspout often pools right back at the foundation. Underground drains carry it away, typically $10-25 per linear foot depending on soil conditions and digging, or $500-1,500 per downspout connection for a 20-40 foot run. How to Compare Quotes
- Compare the same job. Material gauge, gutter size, downspout size, hanger spacing, and old-gutter removal should all be on the quote.
- Watch the outliers. If one quote is 40% below the others, something is being left out.
- Check the terms. No deposit or a small one (10-20%) for special-order materials is standard. Requests for 50% or more upfront are a red flag.
